Founded in London in 1858, John E Fells is one of the leading independent fine wine importers in the UK. The company is owned by Symington Family Estates, producers of Cockburn's, Graham’s, Dow’s and Warre’s Ports, and, together with Familia Torres (producers of the leading Spanish wines Sangre de Toro and Vina Sol), are long standing shareholders in the company. In 2018 the Hill-Smith family, owners of the Yalumba and Oxford joined the company giving it an unrivalled position in the premium sector of the market. In 2017 Fells moved to their new modern offices in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire and employs some 60 staff, engaged in the sales, marketing and distribution of wines, spirits and gift packs. The Fells team deal with all sectors of the UK wine trade, including supermarkets, department stores, cash and carries, off licences, restaurants and hotels. They also engage in the production of alcohol related gift boxes.
